Today our little man turns 6!
With school and Daddy working nights we celebrated his birthday all weekend long. So far we have done the following:
Friday- Ate pizza at Barro's and saw Gnomeo & Juliet at the drive-ins
Saturday- Shopped at AZ Mills, visited G&G Hunt, ate lunch at Oreganos (pizookie!)
Sunday- Church, party at G&G Karafa's
He gets to take cupcakes to school for all his friends tomorrow!
Of course Jordan wanted all things Mario, Wii and DS related. He made out like a bandit.

Little Sluggers...
"Muckdogs, Muckdogs, Muckdogs"!
That is the chant we will be hearing for the next couple of months. The midgets have started their first season of tee-ball and they are on the same team: The Muckdogs.
So far they have really enjoyed their practices. The both got new cleats and they share a batting helmet & bat. This will be the last year for awhile they are able to play on the same team so it is really nice for me!
One of their teammates was on Jord's soccer team this fall so they had an instant friend. Not that they needed one, the cling together the whole practice. We have the kid who doesn't touch the bases (Dillon), spins circles in the outfield (Jordan), takes his glove off and tosses it in the air (Dillon), and chases the runner all over the field to tag them out (Jordan).
At the end of the practice each player gets a chance to bat while the others field. It's hilarious!

Tonsils...
Mr. Jordan and I skipped out of school a little early today for an appointment with the ENT. My little guy has been a big snorer all of his life and it's only gotten worse the last few weeks. Add in the constant night waking and freaked out Mom and you get a pair of extra big tonsils. The Dr. took one look in his mouth and said "Yeah, those need to come out".
So next week I will schedule a surgery for my guy (and I am more than a little freaked out about it too). Jordan will have his tonsils & adenoids removed. He is also getting a deep ear canal cleaning while he is "sleeping". The Dr. said his ears were full of wax and Jordan said:
"There are crayons in my ears????"

Picnic at the Zoo
We took the midgets to the zoo for a picnic on Saturday. When I was going through my pictures I was just laughing at all of these. So rather than write a lengthy post about a short afternoon at the zoo I will just present the following...
I call it "Grumps at the Zoo"...
The End.

A New Year...
On a whim we decided to drive to Prescott on New Year's Eve. We had an itching to play in the snow!
The boys looked hilariously cute all bundled up...
I am still loving Dillon wearing his Daddy's old coat from way back when!
We had a quick little snowball fight...
And made a few snow angels...
By then 10-15 minutes had passed and both midgets were in tears about being cold. We warmed up in the hotel with a hot bath and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (gotta love Holiday Inn) and headed out for dinner.
The next day we used our impromptu sled (a plastic garbage can lid) and spend another 15 minuted sledding down a little hill. That seems to be the max amount of time before the tears show up. It was such a fun little getaway!

Christmas Day...
I am still teased by my siblings (and parents for that matter) about being the child who woke everyone one up super early for Christmas every year. Now they have turned me into a grouchy old no morning person. Happy?
They should be glad to know that we slept in to 6:58 at the Karafa house this year.
Good thing to, because I am pretty sure we just missed Santa. Or so Jordan thinks...
Two very excited Christmas boys...
He's Lotso... can you tell?
The big hits of the day...
Merry Christmas to All!!

Christmas Eve...
This year for Christmas Eve we actually stayed home. We are usually celebrating with one of the Grandparents but this was a nice little change for us.
The boys and I spent the morning decorating gingerbread cookies for us & Santa. It sure made the house smell AMAZING!
Jordan was very meticulous in his decorating. Not a stray sprinkle in sight... almost.
Dillon had more fun eating our creations then actually making them.
I prepared a Christmas feast of Ham, corn, funeral potatoes and Blair's favorite dessert (in lieu of b-day cake). Noticeably missing were the rolls that were an EPIC failure!!
After dinner we had our little Christmas program. Jordan serenaded the family with the songs he learned at school and Dillon sang Jingle Bells, which is the only song currently in his arsenal. I tried to read the boys a story from The Friend about the true meaning of Christmas, but they just wanted to know why I was crying.
The Hunt family tradition of opening new jammies for Christmas continued...
And our very own Karafa tradition of opening a new ornament for the tree carried on as well...
We got into our jammies and settled in for a family viewing of "The Christmas Story". It was a wonderful day!
