Whatever...

I am the Queen of the dirty look and eye roll. Don't believe me? (insert dirtiest look and eye-roll)
It looks like I will have two little princes vying for my title. Jordan is currently in the lead because this weekend he added WHATEVER to the repertoire!!!

Example:
Mom- Jordan do not stand on the couch
Jordan- WHATEVER.

Dad- Jordan, listen to your Mom.
Jordan- WHATEVER.

The worst part is Blair asked him where he learned that and he said Mommy. And it's probably true. And we might have laughed. We are bad parents.

Another Jordan funny was Saturday we were out shopping and Jordan is doing the play by play and says we walked in rocks. Walks and Rocks rhymes. Dilly Billy rhymes. Daddy Fatty rhymes (OK I am laughing AGAIN as I type this). He cracks me up! Apparently the feeling is mutual because he tells me all the time now "Mommy, you are cracking me up". When I asked him about walks, socks and rocks he told me that 2 words rhyme, not three. DUH!

Last night before FHE he told us "Jordan is 2 syllables". Thank you Brooke! You are a great teacher!

Today...

Today is gone. Today was fun.

Ah the wise Dr. Seuss! Today was the first of Jordan's extractions and he did awesome! He is very excited about the Tooth Fairy coming to visit our house tonight! Mommy is not so excited about having to stay up late and try desperately not to wake up Dillon (NOT a night person!) Here's the patient:

For Home Evening tonight we did our family calendar for the month of October. We have lots of fun things coming up. The boys also painted some decorations for the month. Aren't they lovely?

The picture is grainy but one day I will get a better video of him and the Little Critter book ( a personal favorite). This is what lulls me to sleep each night. My sweet baby is getting so big!

What on Earth?

Did I do to the darn Tooth Fairy? Just call us Snaggletooth Central around these parts!

Dillon was running down the hallway at Grandma's (2 minutes before we left...of course) and fell face first on ceramic tile. The only casualty was his front tooth. Maybe I will call him Chipper. Humor is all I have left at this point.


I also have humor about my own appearance OBVIOUSLY! But I have to document the fact that my boy actually wanted his Mommy tonight. Ahhhh, true love!

Aww!

How is it that our kids somehow know exactly what we need. Yesterday was bad, but today was worse. Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike working? No? Well here's not the place to start!

I just finished tucking in my wonderful little men. We read stories and couldn't find our nightly staple The Going to Bed Book. Jordan and I started the words from memory and Dillon scampers away and shows up with it. He is such a smart little guy! I love him so much. I swear when he starts to talk he will have so much to say. We snuggled, kissed and said goodnight and now I miss them in my arms already.

I love being Jordan and Dillon's mom!

My apologies...

Dear Mother,
I'm sorry that I came into this world as your second child. Like Jordan, Betsy must have tricked you into thinking motherhood was easy. I'm sorry that I would never make eye contact with you or sit and snuggle on your lap. Dillon must be that exact replica of me and I am now sorry.

Dear Nursery Teachers and Parents,
I'm sorry that my child is "that child". You know, the one who hits the other kids and runs away from you the minute you take your eyes of him.

Dear neighbors,
I'm sorry if the noise from my house exceeded that maximum decibel today. It has been a rough day.

I'm sorry that I have no patience today.

This pretty much sums up the day!

I am watching my weight!

My Mother-in-law and I joined Weight Watcher's today. Every Saturday from now until I weigh a 2nd grader less I will be at a Weight Watcher's meeting! I am really not good with public humiliation, so I am hoping this kick starts me losing some weight.

So this means when you see me stuffing my face with candy please smack me. That is all!

Maybe counting points will also help me with my awful math skills! The Beast tells me it is hard having to help your kids with their homework. Maybe I can hire Brooke Jenkins to tutor me when the time comes! :) Too bad she wasn't around a few months ago to teach me to tell time! Here's a funny story: I am almost 28 and until earlier this year I could not tell time. Seriously! Being a mother has taught me teaching skills and I finally taught myself with this little trick: Short hand= short word (hour) Long hand= Long word (minute). At least I think that is right..............................

That would be really embarrassing if Blair was lying to me.

One down & one to go!

I cheated and bought the boys long-sleeved shirts from Wal-Mart today. I don't think my sewing skills are good enough for that yet! Blair had the Mario Brother's music on his cell phone and Jordan was dancing along. He is pretty dang cute if I do say so myself!

Do you want to know what a weirdo I am? (yeah, I figured you did!) I bought a new camera so that I could take more photo's to blog with! I totally admit it! I have a great camera but it is big and I wanted a nice little one that I could keep in my purse! I haven't quite figured it out yet and keep getting really bad red eye, so I apologize for bad pictures in advance!

FHE & Wii

I'm taking a "mental health" weekend, which means that my house is a total wreck. Last week our FHE lesson was about obedience. This week was about helping our family. The perfect game for FHE was to split into 2 teams to get the upstairs family room cleaned. The winning team got to pick the Wii game we would play together. Dillon and I let the boys win and that's the story we are sticking to. Although Daddy is lucky because I would have made him play Wii Fit, more specifically the hula hoops!

Saturday I helped a co-worker's son with his community service project for school. They were making Cool Ties for soldiers. I helped with the sewing for a few hours and left behind my sewing machine to help. Of course then I was inspired to get working on our Halloween costumes. Jordan and Dillon were supposed to be Buzz and Woody but Jordy decided last week that they needed to be Mario and Luigi. This is all we have so far. Hopefully I stay inspired enough to finish them on time.

Silly Dilly!

Norma took Dillon grocery shopping on Wednesday and a nice little old man in the produce department kept trying to get Dillon to smile. He is usually one that smiles and waves to strangers but he wasn't having any of it that day (he does get a little bummed when Jordy goes to school).

I guess Norma finished there and started heading towards the aisles when the man came after them saying "Wait, Ma'am. excuse me"! This nice little old man had brought Dillon a balloon to cheer him up...............Wrong idea! he screamed bloody murder in the middle of the store! Norma said the man was so upset!

Dillon is absolutely TERRIFIED of balloons. It is the weirdest thing. He likes to look at them in person or books and they are fine but if their is a balloon anywhere near him he cowers and screams.

I looked it up online and there is a phobia: Globophobia. I guess my poor baby isn't the only one!

Oh Daddy! Where are you?

Is it hot there in the Buckeye Hills? Do your tinfoil dinners taste good? Did you tell the scouts scary stories yet? We miss you Daddy!



Guess what! Mommy let us help her make the freezer cookie dough. We are waiting until you get back to bake them so we can share your glass of milk.



Mommy said we are having a party tonight! It sure is fun! Wanna see what we are doing?

Oh yeah! Can you see that my feet are in the air? Can you guess what I am about to do? Do you think Jordy will be surprised?

Mommy let me pick out a movie from the $1 box at Fry's! They had Mario Brothers whoo hoo!Mommy has a funny look on her face. There are wrinkles on by her "be-brows". And she's talking really loudly. Do you think this could be why?

Or maybe it's because Grandma & Grandpa say they want to come over tomorrow and see our bedroom? Probably not!

Why? And some other catching up to do...

This past weekend was the 6th Annual KFFL Draft, that's the "Karafa Family Football League" for the uninformed. I married a man who loves his sports! Playing (not so recently) Watching (as much as wifey lets him) and Collecting (I will not post anything else on the subject. Grrr) So I do what I can to get in on the action. And I love a competition!


Anyways, here is the official hand-off of the trophy to the 2007 Champ...aka Nanny!

I got a pretty good team especially Peyton Manning who helped me to my 2006 Victory! My house looks empty without my trophy....I will get it back!

The boys were happy to have their cousin Jaxon around for a couple days. Norma used to babysit him with Jordan and I think he thought Jax was his brother for quite some time!

Last night during our bedtime prayers and kisses I told the boys I was thankful Heavenly Father sent them to me. This little conversation ensued:

Jordy- Why?

Mommy- Because I love you boys!

Jordy- Why?

Mommy- Because you are mommy's favorite thing ever.

Jordy- Why?

Mommy- No more why's buddy, time for bed.

Jordy- Did Heavenly Father give you Jaxon?

Mommy- Nope he gave him to Aunt Tara.

Jordy- Why?

Mommy- {sigh} Goodnight.

The "world wide web" can be so small

I wholeheartedly admit to blogstalking. This includes friends and family and old classmates. Our society has become one where we don't make eye contact, know our neighbors or speak to strangers. The blogging world allows us to get to know each other better and get a glimpse into each other's daily lives.

While stalking a former Mesa High classmate I came across a post about Stephanie & Christian Nielson. Christian also went to Mesa High and graduated the year before me. The pictures of this darling couple and news of their terrible accident took me to Stephanie's blog: Nie Nie where I became engrossed in the posts about their lives. She adores her Mr. Nielson and her children are darling and seem so incredibly happy. She seems to do it all, in pumps & red lipstick!....I think I want to be her! And I know that I would like her!

I know that I don't personally know them but after making their acquaintance through her blog I am just overwhelmed with sadness for them so I thought I would share their story. 2 things to love today...

Are you like me and have a husband who absolutely adores chocolate chip cookies? Does he usually want them late at night when there is no way yo are going downstairs to whip up a batch of homemade yumminess? Then rejoice with me: Freezer Cookies

And the 2nd thing is Winkflash.com is having a sale on all of their picture books. It is a flat fee rather than per page. You may not hear from me for awhile because between now and 9/16/08 I am going to be scrapping away!

Just another day

Since I started blogging I have been deeming certain days or activities as "blog worthy". I feel like I need to get out of that habit and just start documenting our everyday life. That way when I finally get one of the blog books I love so much it will be a true representation of our crazy life.

Today started out like any other, with Jordan requesting eggs for breakfast. He really loves eggs. As a non-egg person I have no idea where he got that from. The boys spent some time coloring the pictures in the Friend magazine together. A funny Jordanism: When Jordan got the Friend out of the mail I heard from the backseat " F-R-I-E-N-D, that spells magazine".

For family night we went to Yardhouse for a yummy dinner and to let the boys at the splash pad. There are no pictures of the splash pad as for once Jordan actually got wet (a HUGE accomplishment!) and Dillon was busy screaming bloody murder when I tried to get him within 10 feet of the water!

The coloring books at Yardhouse had instructions for a science experiment with milk, food coloring & dish soap. It was kind of a bust but they had fun!
